The Health Benefits of Cauliflower

Cauliflower. It isn’t a word that makes your heart skip a beat, or makes you start to salivate. But it is a work horse that can don many coats.

Use it as a pizza crust, a base for “stir-fry”, roasted, make cauliflower steaks in the dehydrator and even make raw mashed “potatoes” with it. Cauliflower is so diverse.

Did you know that cauliflower has wonderful health benefits? It is a cruciferous vegetable, a member of the powerhouse team. It is considered to be a cancer preventer, and Cauliflower also has phytonutrients that can help activate detoxification enzymes and regulate their activity. Can’t beat that! Cauliflower is a good source of Vitamin C and Manganese, and it’s levels of vitamin K make it an inflammatory fighter, too.

Acupuncture in pregnancy

Many people have their first contact with acupuncture during pregnancy as a drug free method of controlling symptoms such as nausea and back pain.
Acupuncture is also a popular method to induce labour when the due date arrives:

"After being induced a week overdue with my son, I was not prepared to do that again with my daughter and looked into acupuncture as a way to bring labour on naturally.  I had one session a week before my due date, and I started having contractions which stopped after a few hours.  The next session I had was the day after my due date and contractions started one hour after my session finished, and my baby girl was born later that evening.   Elaine, Renee and the people at the Peace Clinic were knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful.  In my opinion acupuncture worked to bring my labour on and the team at the Peace Clinic were fantastic.
